About

syunikiss.org was purchased in July 2008 and was originally supposed to be a collective of my Japanese music fanlistings and fansites as part of my main domain, orenjipan.com. In January 2009, while restructuring my websites, I decided to use the domain as a place to write about Japanese music. Or, knowing me, a place to ramble about it. I do still use the domain for the original purpose — you can find out more about the sites I run in the network section.

The name “Syunikiss” comes from the Malice Mizer song “Syunikiss 〜二度目の哀悼〜” ( “Syunikiss 〜nidome no aitou〜” – “nidome no aitou” means “second mourning”), which is my favorite song of all time. I have no idea what the word means, though.

The current theme was made by me and features a picture I took of the sky. The “return to the sky” tagline comes from the lyrics to “Syunikiss 〜二度目の哀悼〜.”

About the author

Hi, I’m Larissa, and Japanese music has been a huge part of my life for several years now. I got into it through anime (which I’d watch on TV when I was a kid), and fell almost instantly in love with J-Rock when I discovered it (and later, J-Pop). While there are quite a few artists I couldn’t imagine not listening to, I also love discovering new ones as I learn more about music. Hopefully this blog will help me with that!
